Ben Thanh Market

Visiting a market when you discover a new city is the best way to discover how local people lives. You will find countless stalls selling food, clothing, flowers and many souvenirs of all kinds. Be careful: the area is very lively and touristy, so there are many pickpockets in the area. Some sellers may be a little insistent or inflate their prices; but look on the bright side: this is a great opportunity to use your negotiating skills to get a good price.

War Remnants Museum

The first part of the museum is in the courtyard of the building where planes, helicopters or tanks abandoned by the American army are displayed.
After entering the building you will go through rooms filled with photographs taken by war correspondents showing the horror of war, lives destroyed, the war correspondents who died to inform, to children born disabled as a result of their parents' exposure to Agent Orange. This museum is certainly not entirely impartial, but the images are there, and you will come out understanding Vietnam a little more.

Jade Emperor Pagoda

With its ornate sculptures and constant incense smoke, this is the pagoda to see in Ho Chi Minh City. Be sure to look at his magnificent roof courtyard!

Opera House

Built in 1897 by French architect Eugène Ferret, The Opera House was built in Saigon to entertain French settlers, and its striking façade echoes the style of the Petit Palais, built the same year in Paris.
